In the SIHTI Project, we produced comprehensive and in-depth information on the status of human rights performance of 78 Finnish companies. The study was carried out as a part of government’s analysis, assessment and research activities.

In 2019 we conducted a study on the level of operationalization of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights among 50 Finnish listed companies.

In cooperation with Finnpartnership as an independent consultant we provide human rights consultancy services to companies, which have applied funding from Finnpartnership. We have also trained companies in application workshops about development impacts as well as on integration of Sustainable Development Goals into business.

In the report of Geological Survey of Finland, we examine the human rights impacts in the mining sector as well as integration of a human rights-based approach into environmental impact assessments.

FIANT facilitated Development Policy Committee’s expert groups and was the main author of the publications. The first publication focuses on biodiversity, the second paper on food security and future of food systems and the third publication on Finland’s international climate finance.

In the Time to Act -report commissioned by the Prime Minister’s Office, we assessed how the 100 largest Finnish companies utilize the UN Sustainable Development Goals in their businesses.

FIANT’s team conducted the appraisal of the bilateral project Sustainable WASH for All in Nepal, SUSWA.

We carried out the mid-term evaluations of the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission’s advocacy programme as well as church cooperation programme in 2020. We also made a synthesis analysis of Felm’s four mid-term programme evaluations.

We conducted the final evaluation of the Tunisian School of Politics Programme, which assessed the work of Demo Finland and its partners in strengthening the capacity and mutual dialogue of Tunisian politicians and parties.

We carried out the evaluation of Disability Partnership Finland’s development cooperation programme. The programme focuses on the rights of the persons with disabilities and strengthening the capacity of organisations of persons with disabilities in developing countries.

We facilitated the strategy process of Abilis Foundation. The Abilis Foundation is a non-governmental organisation founded by persons with disabilities.

We conducted the final evaluation of Finnish Red Cross project ”Building Resilient Communities” in Cambodia. The project focused on strengthening disaster risk management and promoting health at the community level and in schools.

FIANT was in the consultant team that made a stakeholder study of the strategic LIFE projects 2021-2017 for the Finnish Ministry of Environment. The strategic LIFE projects focus on nature and biodiversity, circular economy and quality of life, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and clean energy transition.

FIANT was in the consultant team, who carried out the evaluation of the cooperation on Fennoscandian Green Belt for the Finnish Ministry of Environment. The cooperation aims at the protection of natural and cultural heritage of the border regions of Finland, Norway and Russia, and promotes regional economic and socially sustainable development.

In 2019 we facilitated a series of workshops preparing Helsinki Region Environmental Service’s (HSY) programme on sustainable urban area. In the workshops, ideas and suggestions for climate sustainability and circulate economy projects, and related knowledge production were collected from relevant stakeholders.
